Ilia Likhanin · AI Engineer

I create systems that give people their time back.

Time doesn't stand still. Neither do I.
To the event horizon

Twenty-two years in IT.

Results
  • 4 h → 30 minof staff time on medical documentation per day · medical center
  • 25,000+phone calls transcribed and analyzed by AI: the director saw where the clinic was losing patients
  • 20–25kpaper charts tracked with long-range RFID: you can see where each one is and who took it
  • 1 screeninstead of 3–7 pages of patient history: the “Electronic Nurse” pilot project
  • 5 → 67stores in the retail chain where I grew to head of IT
  • 30 dayswithout a failure: language models on old GPUs, data never leaves for the cloud

Trajectory

My path

2004 — 2018 · Retail chain

Head of IT

Started as an assistant sysadmin; 13 years later I was running a three-person IT department.

  • The chain grew from 5 to 67 stores
  • More than 180 computers across two offices
2018 — 2026 · Medical center

Software developer

More than 10 programs and services around the medical database. All of them work every day:

  • tracking of 20,000–25,000 paper charts with long-range RFID (UHF)
  • lab results integrated into the medical system with built-in AI agents
  • IP telephony and call reports
  • electronic outpatient records and management reports
2023 — 2024 · Fuel company

1C 8.3 projects

On contract. Real-time exchange between discount card processing and 1C 8.3 — the gas station chain moved off 1C 7.7 step by step.

2026 · Medical center and my own projects

AI engineer

  • Language models on our own hardware: 30 days without a failure
  • Speech analytics: 25,000 calls
  • AI assistant for doctors — a pilot project
  • Development together with AI agents: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex

Open to remote work and relocation to the US. The next point on the route is your team or your project.

Time calculator

How much time does routine work take from your team?

An example from my work: at a medical center, the lab results module is integrated into the medical information system with built-in AI agents. Staff time spent on medical documentation dropped from 4 hours a day to 30 minutes.

Routine work takes
1 482
hours a year
Automate 50% and 741 h are freed up: that's 93 working days — 0.4 of a full-time employee.

  1. I find the manual work that repeats every day: retyping, cross-checking, calling around, hunting for paperwork.
  2. I build a system that does it on its own and plugs into the software you already use.
  3. Your staff check the result instead of doing the work by hand.

I don't name employers on the site. Company names and references: in conversation, on request.

* The counter at the bottom left: integrating lab results into the medical system cut staff work from 4 hours to 30 minutes in an 8-hour day — that's 26 minutes given back in every working hour. Move your cursor to the black hole: near the event horizon, time runs slower.
